Get a copy of your file and consult with a criminal defense lawyer to determine if you can get the charge expunged. If not, it can probably be subject to an order of nondisclosure. A nondisclosure order, however, would not shield the charge from the nursing board.

Based on what you have written and the disposition of your prior criminal case, you may qualify for an expunction. As for a non-disclosure petition, this will only shield your prior criminal records from the general public. Pursuant to a 2007 amendment of Chpt 411.081 of the Texas Gov't Code, the Texas Board of Nursing is no longer restricted from viewing a criminal record. You should really discuss your case and the potential avenues with a local crimnal defense law firm. If my local criminal defense law firm can assist you with this legal issue or any other legal matter, please contact my paralegal Tina ([email protected]) to arrange for an initial consultation.
