Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Class A Misdemeanor Expunged?
Someone I know has a satisfactory discharge (feloncy reduced to a misdemeanor) for official oppression in TX. It was reduced on 9/2/04. The imposition of that sentence was suspended, and the term of community supervision previously imposed was terminated and the offender was discharged. **My question is, can this person have his record ''expunged''? And if so, how long does he have to wait? What is the procedure...and cost?

Re: Class A Misdemeanor Expunged?
Maybe. As the law is written your friend probably does not qualify for expunction as an entitlement. Some such cases however, still get expunge. Your friend should consult with an attorney in his jurisdiction to determine local customs and behaviors. TCL
