Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Colorado resident arrested in Texas for marijuana possession (Class A misdemeanor, between 2-4oz). I earn too much to obtain the court appointed attorney. I expect to be required to show up in court (6hrs drive), and to only have to pay fines (no possibility of probation or community service, etc...), because I am not a Texas resident. Is this correct? And, should I be OK without a lawyer?

You could get probation if it was at least a year long. If you don't get probation and get a final conviction, your license will be suspended in Texas (and Colorado will honor it.)
You need to hire a lawyer.
