Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Communicating Threats
I recently had a falling out with a friend and since then this person has left 3 messages on my machine which i still have the messages , making threats to me like causing bodily harm and etc, what should i do, should i go to the police , but is the messages on my machine going to classify as proof. I m concerened this person may try to act on this and if so i know i have the right to defend myself but would also like to avoid getting an assault charge or etc.

Call the Police and make a report. The tapes can be used to some extent.
