Every intake division of the DA's office proceeds according to their own procedures and schedule. Every grand jury proceeds at their own pace.

Your father's attorney may file motions which would delay or speed up the process.

The bottom line is that there is no set timeline.

Re: confessed awaiting indictement

Hello there,

Indictments depend upon what one is charged with and whether or not the individual is in jail or not.

If in jail for a misdemeanor the state has 90 days to file in the case. Misdemeanors do not have to be indicted they only have be filed in as an information.

If in jail for a felony the state must indict in 120 days. If the individual is not indicted in the allowed time frame they can be given a personal recognizance bond.

Sincerely,
