Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
is this considered a confession
my friend described in detail a crime he did in his journal.the police have the journal-he denies committing the crime to them.does the journal entry count as a confession?the police talked to us and we told them he told me about the crime on the phone.is that a confession

The journal is not a confession but can be admitted as evidence because it can be considered relevant evidence that is an exception to the hearsay rule.
Your communication to the police can be considered a statement it would only be a confession if you confessed to a crime.
