Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
What constitutes a hate crime and how do you prove it? How can negligence be brought against the responding officer? This past weekend, myself and 4 others were assaulted by a group of 20-30 blacks in an unprovoked attack.

Hate crimes are defined in the Texas Penal code. I suggest you contact the police and the local district attorneys office to file police report and a complaint. The DA can help you with the Texas definintion.
Contact the internal affairs division of your police department regarding the negligence complaint.
