Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Who do I contact to find out when my husband has a court date and who can give me the most information about his case?? He has a court appointed attorney but I can never get a hold of him to ask him to contact my husband so he can get a bond reduction. I heard it's taking six months for anyone to get a court date low can he get one sooner???

I do not know in what county the case is pending but you can generally go on the county's or court's website to gather information. You might be able to get information from the sheriff's department who has your husband in custody. You might be able to get information through the VINE system at 1-877-894-8463.
If your husband wants to try to get a bond reduction, then he can call or write to the lawyer or talk to the lawyer in court. It is not up to you, nor really is it your place, to be trying to interface with the lawyer about matter relating to representation.
Moreover, in today's systems, most bonds are controlled by a bond schedule that is pretty tried and true (except for perhaps theft cases or other money type cases and some drug cases.) The lawyer should know whether the bond amount is high, and if it is something that might be able to be reduced with or without a hearing.
As far as court dates - different counties handle their dockets in different ways. In Harris County defendants go to court quickly and pretty often (until their cases are set on the trial docket.) Other counties depend more on the lawyers to be preparing rather than bringing the defendants to court to check up on the lawyers.
If there are issues to be addressed in your husband's case, you can let your husband know that HE is the one who must contact the lawyer - generally by mail - to get information and make requests. (Many hired and court appointed lawyer will deal with family members either not at all or on a very limited basis.)
