contempt of court
If someone was arrested in texas for simple possesion of marijuana 8 yrs ago but never showed for court, what would be the best steps involved to get it taken care of. Would a lawyer be needed? (First offense)

First I suggest you retain an attorney. Then, he needs to contact the court and the DA's office in the county where the charges are pending and make arrangements to come in and take care of your business. If you don't retain an attorney, you stand a better chance of getting some jail time for contempt.
