Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

I have court next week in one county for a case me and my boyfriend filed against each other. We plan on dropping charges against each other. I just looked up my information online and found out that I have a warrant in another county. What should I do? Do I need a lawyer? Do I have time to hire one for next Tuesday and do I need one if we are dropping charges against each other?

You could be arrested when you make your appearance at court. You should also be aware that it may not be so simple as just coming to court and saying you want to drop the charges. The State of Texas has picked the charges up and they get to ultimately decide about what happens with the case. If you and your boyfriend both go into the court and admit to the prosecutor that one or both of you were lying (and that's why you want the charges dropped), then the prosecutors could use those statements against you and possibly file the charge of Making a False Report to a Peace Officer. You both need lawyers and you need to resolve the warrant before you go to court.
