Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Court-Ordered Drug Treament
My brother has a history of alcohol and drug addiction. Recently, he said he was going to kill himself (he called family and friends as well as left a suicide note). My father had him picked up by the local sherrif and placed in a detox for 72 hours. His history of addiction and abuse necessitate an inpatient treatment program.
Question: Do I have standing to ask a judge to issue a court-order for alcohol/drug treatment?
