Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Credit Fraud and Forgery

I applied for 6 credit cards in a family member's name with me as the co-signer, i have used and paid these cards for over a year. I have paid off two of them. One company has found out and sent the family member a form to sign saying they did not authorize their signature or usage of the card. What kind of charges can they file, state or federal and what is the punishment? Will they let me continue to pay these cards out? Can they file charges without the consent of the famiy member. Please help, I am desperate.

Credit Card Abuse

I would advise you to stop using the cards asap and try to pay them off asap. As a practicle matter, the companies are aonly intrested in the money. If you are charged you will probably be charged with forgery and or credit card abuse. These are both State Jail Felonies which, as a practicle matter, require probation.
