Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

criminal background and employment

I have a criminal background in 8/94 i got arrest for misd theft i was sentenced to a fine a yr probation with deferred adjudication i completed it. Then about six yrs later i recieved another misd theft 4/00 i was sent to jail for 30 days and fined i completed that. Now i have been trying to get a job from several diff places and no one will hire me with this record. Is there anyway to get my record looked at or get my deferred record expunged so that there wont be two records of same offense showing when i apply for jobs. I have a degree and still this withholds me from employment anywhere.
