i have a friend who was incarcerated, and immigration has a hold on him, he will get a court appointed attorney, does it make sense to get another attorney his charges are theft in the amount of 15000.00 ?

He will not get a court-appointed lawyer for the immigration case, he might for the criminal case, depending upon his circumstances. It makes sense to get him a lawyer. The outcome will depend on whether the immigration hold is based solely on the criminal charge. He needs an attorney versed in both areas of the law.
