Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Criminal Records Incorrect
My criminal records are incorrect. They show the charges were handed down by the wrong district court number, they were to not be seen once I completed everything I was expected to.But to my surprise there they are and it cost me a really good job. What do I do?I am willing to pay for an attorney but want one that will get the job done correctly. What's my next step?Write to the Govenor for a pardon?Have that judge face a judicial review board? This has been a nightmare from the beginning,I told my attorney I wanted to take it to jury but he talked me into pleading out which I have a feeling screwed me in the backside.I really need solid legal guidance on this one.I'm a single mother of two and need to work but I can't land a job with this record. Please help.

Re: Criminal Records Incorrect
The incorrect court number of no real consequence. It is not clear from your post, but it appears that you plead out to a deferred disposition. If you successfully completed it, then there is no conviction on your record. It should be dismissed. The arrest however, still shows up. If so, it is probably not qualified for expunction, but you might be able to get it sealed. Talk to a lawyer in the county, or nearby county, where the charge was handled.
