Re: Criminal records
Criminal records are maintained by a variety of agencies. This can include local police departments, courthouse records at the county or district clerk's office, the Texas Department of Public Safety and the FBI. The DPS maintains a computerized database called TCIC. You should contact each agency to determine what is available and policies on getting copies. With DPS you will have to submit fingerprints on a standard FBI card with a signed request letter and a fee which I believe is $25. Depending on the outcome of your case, you may want to contact a qualified criminal attorney to see if your records can be expunged.
