how do you take things off your criminal records?

Some matters can be expunged, and you can read the law relating to expunction in the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, Chapter 55.
Other matters can be sealed, which hides the record from the general public, but is still visible to over 23 various agencies. It can be found at Texas Government Code 411.081.
You can also petition for a pardon from the Governor.
