Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Cruise with a warrant

My husband and I would like to take a cruise this winter. He has a warrant out for assault. It is a class A misdemeanor I believe. The warrant is out of Galveston, TX. We would be taking the cruise out of New Orleans, LA. Cruise ships are not requiring passports right now, only govt ID's. So essentially he would be bringing his TX ID to take the cruise out of Louisiana. Will he be detained or arrested by Louisiana customs and taken back to Galveston? Will customs even see the warrant? What is the procedure normally with this sort of thing?
