Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
My daughter was convicted of a 3rd degree felony and has prior felony convictions in her past and one recent one. The DA offered 3 years at first, she didn't take it and when we went back this week, her court apptd attorney said he is now offering an enhanced sentence of 25 years . What is best and worst case scenarios. She was really hoping to get probation, now a lesser sentence looks good.

Apparently she is a habitual offender with a 25 year minimum. Too bad she didn't take the three. If she goes to trial and is found guilty, and the priors are found to be true, then she is looking at a sentence from 25 years to life.
She needs to have a talk with her lawyer and see if she can get back what she turned down.
