Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
My daughter in law now lives in arkansas with my son. Recently they have been receiving notices of bad checks being passed in TX with her name and drivers license but the accounts from the banks do not exist. It must be someone printing checks, forging her name, and passing them off with fake id. What can she do? How can they press charges on someone who has not been in TX for a year?

Passing bad checks is a crime. Whoever passed these particular bad checks did so in Texas, so Texas is where he or she should be prosecuted. If the authorities believe your daughter did this, then they will press charges against her. That she now lives in another state doesn't matter.
Your daughter should get a lawyer in or near the city where charges have been filed against her.
