Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
When my daughter was 19 years old back in 2009 ,she was charged with a Misdemeanor A-POSS MARIJ <=2 OZ DRUG FREE ZONE- CSCD 0 Years , 12 Months , 0 Days with Community Service of 40 Hours. She is attending a community college and would like to attend a university for her teacher degree. Is it true she can not be a teacher with charges like this? How can we correct her record.
Thank you,
Mom

If she received deferred adjudication probation, she can only seal her record but it will not hide it from those who will review to license her to be a teacher. If she got pre-trial diversion, then she can expunge the case if she successfully served it out.
Look at this link. Your daughter can request a letter fo eligibility. http://www.statutes.legis.state.tx.us/Docs/OC/htm/OC.53.htm
Good luck.
