Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
A few days ago the police were called on me for assaulting my girlfriend. I left the premises and the police later picked me up and i was charged for public intoxication, also stated that my girl friend was not pressing charges. The next day she went to the police department and filed a report, yet she stated she did not press charges. I await the prosecutor to send the report to the cities district attorney. The report is littered with false accusations that i am needless to stop yet i am looking for a solid sensible solution. Possibly even rehab for a possible alternative if worse goes to worse. Despite my inability to trust the situation due to her false reports to the detective. she agrees to testify in court against the charges on my behalf, and i would like this help. What should i do? Thank you very much for your time and responses

It sounds as if she is telling you one thing, but doing another. It is time to stop trusting your own judgment in this situation, and hire a criminal defense lawyer to handle this. It may be possible to deflect the situation at this point, but only an attorney privy to all the facts will be able to help you.
