Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Deferred adjudication
My daughter received deferred adjudication 10 years ago. Today she is having trouble finding employment when a background check is made. She was 17 years old and shop lifted at a store with a girlfriend. We hired an attorney and deferred adjudication was given. How can this be removed from her record. We live in Houston, Texas. Pls help
Thanks

Re: Deferred adjudication
There are attorneys on this website who practice in Harris County -- contact one of them directly regarding a petition for non-disclosure. It will not expunge the record from law enforcement personnel, but it will seal the record from other potential employers.
