Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Deferred adjudication
If an employer runs a background check, will a case that has been given deferred adjudication: (1) show up at all?, or (2) show up only if the person is still completing the parole sentence? Thanks.

Re: Deferred adjudication
If the employer does a comprehensive background check a deferred adjudication will show up in either event. The case will always be of public record in the office of the Clerk of Court.
Deferred adjudication means there will be no conviction if the probation is successfully completed. There will, however, be a record as stated whether or not the case is dismissed.
