Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
I am on deferred adjudication in Texas. My term ends in a month. I think i still owe my attorneys about 700 bucks, but they say I owe them 8,000..? We are in an argument about this. I never signed any contract with them on pricing it was all verbal. And the majority of my payments were made in cashiers check or just cash. And I never once received a receipt from them. I haven't paid them in 2 years because of the disagreement and they have not contacted me about this since nor sent a bill. Also my bonding company says I still owe them 800 bucks, but 2 years ago they said they lost my file and had no clue what I owed and now they are saying I owe $800. But I have receipts from them proving I paid down to a remaining balance of $218, yet they wont accept them as proof and say their records are correct. I also have not paid them since they lost my file. I reviewed my contract with the state it has no terms in it that says I have to pay my attorneys or bonding company in full before my probation ends. It actually said says nothing about them at all.
So my question is do I have to have paid both of them in full or made payment arrangement to have my probation terminated?

Your probation has ZERO to do with money owed to your bonding company and / or your lawyer.
