Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
deferred judification didnt go away
About 14 years ago, I was accused of assault and due to my career, I plead no contest. I was given probation with deferred judification. However now that I am unemployed, and looking for a job the criminal history checks that employers do are coming back with a bad history. So the deferred judification, which I thought meant this would go away once my probation was up, did not go away. How do I get this off of my record?

Where are you located? This may be a simple matter of filing for the records to be sealed and then appeading in court to have a judge rule on this. Do you have the papers regarding the deferred? Do you recall what court you were in?
