Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Detainer put on someone already in state jail
My son is serving 6 months in state jail and gets out in 1 month. While in there, he says another county put out a detainer on him for 3 months. Can he receive time served for this or does he have to do time on this new detainer for another 3 months?
Thank you.

Re: Detainer put on someone already in state jail
Contact the county where the detainer originated. Either retain an attorney in a nearby county, or contact the public defender. An attorney may be able to negogiate a reduction or time served on the sentence.
