My husbabd has 7 DWLS in 5 yrs 2 this year its 250.00+ to get his licence back but when I call the 800# to DPS its always busy. I cannot find out anything. he continues to drive which I try to stop him and then he gets caught and goes to jail which costs us. I have finanly put my foot down and took all the keys and told him I will leave him if he continues but this time we feel we need to hire an attorney to get him clear. I dont want him to go to jail this time. last DWLS he was sentenced to 30 days jail. he took 10 days house arrest. but I dont know what the judge will do now he goes to court in 2-3 months because there backed up here in Tom Green county. all we want to do is get his licence back. he has no other charges on him.

I reviewed the attorneys listed on this site, was not able to locate one in San Angelo, or even Abilene.

This case will probably require a few court hearings and consultations with the ADA. You need to locate an attorney in your area, or you will be paying for attorney travel time.

Contact the local bar association for a referral to a criminal attorney. Not knowing how much money you have available, you may need to contact several attorneys to locate one that will work with you on a payment plan.

Check out the DPS website. I am pretty sure it is more than $250 to reinstate his license. The penalty increases with each year, and with each DWLS. He has to have an SR22 on his insurance. Contact the insurance agent, they should be able to easily find out the status of his license, what is required for reinstatement.
