Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
dropping charges
I was involved in a fight with a guy I was trying to do business with who was going to press charges on me after i ended up getting the best of him. I offered him some money to settle out of court and to drop charges; we came to an amount to settle but I want to make sure that there will be no more crap about this after I pay him. Is there a form I can get him to sign to make sure that none of this can ever be brought up again? Thank you.

You need to be careful. Maybe this should be handled through an attorney. There are legal problems inherent in trying to settle a case in this manner. It could backfire if not handled carefully.
