Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
drug charges
i was arrested for poss controlled substance over 1 under 4, and they seized my vehicle. they failed to file the seizure within the 30 days, but it's been nearly 50 days now and i still don't have my car back. i have an attorney but i am wondering if i may need a different one. he wasn't even aware i was indicted until i read it in the paper. i have no prior charges and they are offering me upfront fine of 17,000 and 2 years deffered. so he says. should i talk to another attorney?

Re: drug charges
It is actually impossible to know without a complete investigation of your file. Talk to your lawyer, if you are not comfortable with the representation, then go elsewhere. Be cautious however, about burning bridges. Two years deferred is not bad for a felony drug charge.
