my sister got a dwi and has a court date for the 7aug what can we expect

Depends upon the county. The coordinator/bailiff will ask her about her attorney, and if she wants to hire one (if she does, will probably get a reset for a few weeks) or ask for a court-appointed lawyer (she will be given forms to complete and the judge will rule on it). If she was smart, she would hire a lawyer first. It could change the outcome dramatically.
