Shortening Adult "Shock" probation
Take a look at Tx C Crim Proc 42.12.6 which has all the "shock probation" rules. It would appear that a judge can, within 180 of sentencing, can - on the motion of the defendant or the State , and after a full hearing, release the defendant to Community Service. Whether the motion will success or not is not certain, The judge can deny the motion without a hearing, but if he is even considering granting it, there that must be the result of a full, adversarial hearing.
