Eliminating past felony record

I have a one felony record dated back in 1985 that stil shows til this day how or can i do this myself to get rid of this record and rough estimate how much it would cost me to get attorney plus court costs?

It may not be possible. It depends upon what the charge was, and what the disposition was. Take a copy of your file to an attorney in the area where the case is, and see if it can be sealed or expunged.

If you're eligible under the law, you may have your record expunged or sealed. If your case is not eligible for sealing or expunction, then your only recourse is to file court papers challenging the original charge or conviction.

Most lawyers' fees are between $750.00 to $2,500.00 for sealing or expunction applications.

Depending on the case, an effort to challenge the original judgment or indictment could cost ten thousand dollars or more.

No matter what happens in court, there are private companies, some offshore, which may either choose to ignore a court order, or be unaware of a court order, so in today's technological world it may be impossible to erase the embarrassing record altogether.
