Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Embezzlement
I was an Officer of a Corporation, Secretary/Treasurer, and a signer on the checking account. I used the account for personal gain in excess of $10,000.00. The new officers of the company were voted in to close it down and found only $3,000.00 so far. They also have found files and Bank statement missing. I have offered to pay the $3,000.00 back and did not disclose the rest. What can happen to me and what should I do?

Re: Embezzlement
I would be very cautious. If they know what you did, I would hire a good attorney and have him contact the corp and try to settle things asap. I would be prepared to pay back what you can and to strike a deal with them in the civil case. Remeber, often an attorney can say thngs that you cant.If you are in the Austin or San Antonio area we can help.
