Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Employer sueing over employee negligence

I had a medical practice where I employed an office manager. I kept her on for 4 years before retiring. Since retiring, I realized the office manager was negligent in her duties possibly causing me to lose thousands of dollars. Do I have any rights if this person did not steal any money, but just did not do her job as expected.

Re: Employer sueing over employee negligence

Probably not under criminal law (assuming there was no theft or fraud), however, depending upon the circumstances, you may have a civil action for damages.
