i was arrested. i was never charged with the crime. i want to know how to get off of my record and about how much will it cost me. it keeps coming up on background checks when i aplly for certain jobs.

If the casefile of your charges reflects what you say, then you are entitled to request the court for an expunction. If granted, then the expunction orders the destruction of all files of your arrest. My fee for an expunction depends on the location of the underlying case. Normally, the $500 down payment/retainer fee is sufficient. The county will charge a filing fee for the petition. TCL
