Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Esponging a class c misdemeanor
I have a class c misdemeanor on my record from 2003 (located in Conroe County Courthouse), it was for a hot check of which I paid the whole amount in full. I recently applided for an apartment and they turned me down because of this, even thoe I paid it off. They told me I would have to have it removed. How do I do this and how long would this take?

Re: Esponging a class c misdemeanor
You are not entitled to expunge convictions. However if the offense were pardoned, it could then be expunged. Unfortunately, the governor frowns on applications to pardon Class C. misdemeanors.
The only possibility would be to hire an attorney willing to file an application to expunge the offense. If the application were not opposed, it would then be expunged.
