Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Expundgement

I have been trying for the past 5 yrs. to get my arrest record expundged w/o having to pay out of pocket thousands of dollars. I have never been convicted of the things I was arrested for and all charges were dropped-in fact it was a case of wrong place, wrong time. I was proven innocent and yet I cannot get a job due to the fact these charges show up on every criminal history check. This is wrong, I should not have to pay for something I didn't do, nor could prevent. If there is any way I can get assistance or an answer to my problem please help. Your time will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Expundgement

Have you tried to get the expunctions through an attorney? If the charges were dropped due to lack of evidence and it was a felony, then it can be expunged. If it was a misdemeanor and it was dismissed and the statute of limitations has passed (and it sounds like it has) then it can be expunged. Is there some other circumstance that is preventing the expunction?
