Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Is it possible to exsponge or erase a misdimeanor in Texas?
Hello,
Is it possible to totally erase a DWI from a persons record. Is that true or just a silly rumor?
Thank You,
Kay Eckland

A Texas court can direct certain law enforcement agencies to destroy all records associated with an arrest and/or subsequent prosecution. Often the court will specifically direct law enforcement agencies to destroy jail records, police reports, prosecution reports and court files. In addition, a successful expungement petitioner, may deny ever having been arrested for or charged with the criminal offense for which he is receiving the expunction.
When was the DWI (ie how long ago)? What county was it in? Were you given deferred adjudication?
Do you still have all of your papers regarding it?
