Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Is it extortion or attempted extortion?
A Yahoo group moderator bans a member for violating the rules. The member then proceeds, in several emails to threaten to at first sign in with a different ID and say thing that will ''turn everyone against you'', then to privately email everyone who has posted in the last 6 months the same, if the moderator does not restore the banned user's status in the group and apologize. We live in different states. Most of these threats were sent after I sent a ''Stop all contact message'' to him.
I have reason to believe that he has already started emailing people, and a message was posted to the group by another person who had been banned for breaking the rules (under a new ID), making accusations against that were either totally false or half-truths.
