Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Failure To Appear Misdemeanors Arrest

My Son had 3 Failure To Appear Misdemeanor Charges. The County Sheriff's Deputies busted (destroyed) the front door to his home and went in to arrest him. They have had him in a county corrections dept. for 16 days. I can't afford to pay an attorney the $1500.00, and can't find out anything from the Law Officials. Am I allowed to speak to the District Attorney's office to see what I can possibly do for him? Thank you, - I'm A ''Don't Know The Laws'' ''MOM'' and I'm treated like a criminal when I visit, or try to ask questions. What gives the law employees a right to be rude to the common person?

Re: Failure To Appear Misdemeanors Arrest

Mam, I would not call the District Attorney's Office and discuss anything with them if I were you. They will take what you say and use the information against your son, or they will be rude and not talk to you about your son's case. As to the rudeness of the officers at the Sheriff's Office or the Police Department about all you can do is file a formal written complaint against each one of them if you know their names. At some point, your son should be appointed an attorney by the Judge, you may want to contact the District or County Clerk's office in your county to find what court your son's case is assigned, and see if that court has or will be appointing your son an attorney to handle his cases. Goodluck.
