under federal law, how many days since my arrest, do I have to be indicted?

You don't give enough information so that I can answer your question.
Under Texas Law for a person arrested in Texas for a felony committed in Texas, Article 17.151 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure requires that a person be indicted not later than 90 days after the person is arrested. Failure to indict within 90 days will mean that the bond must be lowered to an amount the defendant can immediately afford (often that means a "PR" bond).
No one should represent themselves in a criminal matter. Any person arrested should immediately seek legal representation.
