Reinstatement of civil rights post-conviction

As to voting, once you have finished your felony sentence you can get your voting rights restored. Checy with the County Clerk, or whoever is in charge of voting registration.

On the gun, as far as the state is concerned, if the conviction is not for a violent offense or one where weapons were used, a convicted felon may possess a firearm. BUT IT IS A FECERAL OFFENSE FOR A CONVICTED FELONY TO OWN OR POSSESS ANY TYPE FIRE ARM.
