Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Felony Charges.

I am only 17 and i got myself into a

mess. I was out skinny dipping with

some girls and one of them put her

cocaine and marijuana in my wallet. I

don't know that for a fact but it's the

only thing i can think of because I

sure don't mess with that. We got

caught and I got charged with possession of marijuana and a controlled substance. I know there's

nothing i can do, but I don't want

this to ruin my life and future

because I'm so young. Am I a good candidate to be expunged? thank you

for your time.

Re: Felony Charges.

Before we can talk about the legal requirements to have your record expunged, we need to address the initial charges. There may be a way to have them dismissed---if not outright then possibly through deferred prosecution or deferred adjudication probation. Until I know more about how these items were discovered inside of your wallet, it is hard to properly advise you. I am located in Houston, but I travel around the state of Texas representing people like yourself who have been charged with crimes. If you would like to talk, I don't charge for initial consultations and can even chat with you on the phone as you are not in Houston. Email my legal assistant, Carrie Smith using "[email protected]" and let her know that I responded to your law guru request. Be sure to leave your contact information and she will call you to set up a free consultation. Then we can see how best to address your situation to protect your future.

Re: Felony Charges.

The only time someone can have their record expunged is when the charges are dismissed or there is a not guilty verdict at trial.

Dont give up on fighting the initial charge. You may have some search issues. You may also be a prime candidate for some type of pre-trial diversion program.

You should consult with an attorney in your area about the specifics of your case.

What do you mean, "there is nothing you can do?" You can have a trial!
