Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

I am on felony probation for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle for 3 years, im a year and a half into it and was doing perfect untill this weekend i slipped and got a DWI. what are the consequense that COULD befall be (depending on judge ofcourse) and if i plead not guilty to DWI could i delay my court date another year and a half untill my probation is complete for the felony... Thanks

The probation condition you violated was getting arrested. Probation could be revoked, modified or extended. You need a lawyer experienced in this area.

Since the condition vioalated was getting arrested, delaying the resolution of the DWI case should not affect you, however, I would suggest you defer resolution of the DWI until after you have consulted with an attorney to determine whether a subsequent conviction would harm you.

Pleading guilty to the DWI before the probation violation is resolved would provide the state with more reason to revoke your probation.
