Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Felony Reduction
When I was about 23 years old I made a terrible decision to go on a hot check writting spree. Well I ended up with one misdemenor and one felony. I have been on probation since then and am currently 27. I get off probation in 2 more years. I am paying back everything plus a lot more. I was wondering if when I finish my punishment if there is any way to get this reduced to another misdemenor.

Re: Felony Reduction
There really is no way to reduce the charge after you have already started serving your sentence. If you are on deferred adjudication, you can obtain a non-disclosure order after a certain number of years if you don't get in any more trouble. Also, if you have already paid the restitution you might talk with your probation officer about getting an early release.
Good luck.
