Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Filing False police report (statute of limitations)
I am writing to inquire about the statute of limitations for filing a false police report. I was charged with interfering with a police officer in Houston Texas at a state university, by University Department of Public Saafety (actual state employeed DPS) . in the report filed the officer wrote that I grabbed him by the arm. During videotaped depositions, the officer admitted that I did not touch him, but had no answer for writing on the police report that I grabbed him. What is the statute of limitations for a police officer who lies in a police report?

Re: Filing False police report (statute of limitations)
I don't understand your question or your goal.
If you have a videotaped deposition of this officer, am presuming that you have an attorney handling this matter for you.
Am also presuming that you are the defendant in the case.
The Statute of Limitations is a rule of law that applies to when time expires to file a lawsuit. You are not the government, and you cannot file a criminal case. If you wish to file a police report, and your attorney agrees with you, then you can file a complaint.
Am not sure if this answers your question, as am somewhat confused by the question.
