Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
How do I find a lawyer?
MY 17 yr. old was recently arrested, and released on a p.r. bond. I cannot afford a lawyer, and I do not know how to find one that does pro bono work.

Re: How do I find a lawyer?
Your son can request a court appointed attorney at his court date. However, I would call some attorneys and find out what they charged. Bring the list with you to court. That way you can prove to the judge that you looked for but could not find an attorney that you could afford.

I would not only contact some lawyers like Mr. Palmer suggeted, but you might attempt to contact the State Bar of Texas, as well as see if there is a criminal attorney association in your area, they may some of attorneys that will do pro bono work, also contact your areas local bar association and see if they have any attorneys that will do pro bono work.
