Fourth amendment

I was pulled over in Carrollton,--name removed-- supposedly because someone called and said I was swerving. Was arrested for inspection sticker 17 days out of date and drugs were found in my car while going thru bookin process. one cop searched car on private property i was never patted down or asked if car could be searched. was not even told i was being arrested after being given liscence and insurance card back and told we were just gonna sit afew minutes whole incident was hoakey from the start. by the way arrest report said i was arrested for drugs which were not found till after i wasbeing booked in at the station

Get a lawyer. IF the arrest was legal, then the search of the car might be legal as an inventory search. An arrest based upon a recent sticker violation is a stretch, however. On the other hand, if the cops produce an articulable reason to stop you based upon the swerving, and observed illegal activity, then the arrest might be valid. Until an attorney has the opportunity to review all of the evidence, it will be difficult to advise you.
