Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
I would like to know what can be done for a friend to get credit for time served? He previously served 8 months at a substance abuse center and was recently sentenced to 20 months state jail, however the court did not give him the credit even though the judge mentioned he would get it.

His lawyer would talk with the judge about getting the credit. However, he is not entitled to that credit.
